of Butterflies...

Came upon a MySpace survey a couple of days ago and as I read the answers posted by a friend, the first question in that list got me thinking, setting me in a nostalgic reflective mood: "Last time you had butterflies in your stomach?".

There are some memories that linger forever - so it seems. The old stand-by of saying that the first love is never forgotten comes to mind. Being one day away from the generally acknowledged as the day of Friendship & Love certainly helps to make that connection with faces and places all-but-lost to the passage of time; yet the memories remain.

I'm far away from being in a position to evaluate if I have been lucky or unlucky on the matters of love. I can count on having - as I am sure many others too, my share of high points and disappointments with this thing called love, and can safely bet that when I am ready to check out, I'll know... 'til then it's all a matter of gathering the experiences, learning from the bad ones and building upon the good ones.

Last time I had butterflies in my stomach?.

It only takes a spoken or written word, overhear someone call a name, listen to a song, breathe the cold air, watch a couple walk by... sights, sounds, smells and places. Un-welcomed life events some time ago had me living day to day; something uniquely special happened then that prompted change to turn things again for the better: that presence left a big impression on my life and follows me to this day - butterflies in my stomach. Perhaps the most important thing is that my faith in people - including me - was restored.

Happy Valentine smile!. This one's for you...

Forever grateful for the memories.
